Mother of Christ Catholic Church
We are a family, who under the guidance of the Pastor, carry on the mission of Jesus Christ, i.e., to offer praise and worship to the father, to form and be formed in the image of Christ and to render loving service to the Church, civic and world communities in which we live.
MOTHER OF CHRIST HISTORY
This parish was founded in 1983 in Miami, Florida, and parishioners started celebrating Mass, both in English and Spanish, in private homes and in the Bent Tree Elementary School cafeteria. It was with the help of the Women’s Club that the parish organized its first outreach group ministering the needy. Soon other ministries were established like the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, the CCD program and a youth group. Through various fund raising activities, future dreams were planned and realized.
The new parish center, dedicated in 1990, provided meeting rooms and class rooms of the growing parish offering the opportunity to many ministries to cater and reach the needs of the community. The Stewardship Program was instrumental in encouraging and educating the parishioners to share their time, treasure and talents in various ways to support the growing needs of the community. Today there is a new elementary school with goals to reach eight grade and Learning Center catering to children eighteen months and older, more than sixty one ministries / groups, a Retreat House and Banquet Hall facilities.
